Brandon Lincoln Snyder
Function: Workshop Leader & Author
Brandon Lincoln Snyder is a composer based out of New York City. His works often deal with
constrained movement and (over)saturated sound. His music has been performed by the SWR
Vokalensemble, Line Upon Line, Ensemble Aventure, and Faint Noise, at institutions including IRCAM,
impuls, MATA, The Jack Straw Cultural Center, and Downbeat Magazine.
He has presented research in machine learning-based composition techniques at the IRCAM Forum and TENOR conference, as well as
taught music informatics at the Karlsruhe state conservatory of music.
He holds a masters in
composition from the Stuttgart state music conservatory, where he studied with Martin Schüttler, and
holds a bachelors in music from Harvard University, where he studied with Chaya Czernowin, Steven
Kazuo Takasugi, Vijay Iyer and Claire Chase.
He is the founding director of Browser, a festival for
web-based sound art, and he currently teaches music and media technology at the New York Public
Library.
